Egypt, Bosnia Discuss Boosting Tourism Cooperation

Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, met with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Stasa Kosarac, on Sunday to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral tourism cooperation. The meeting, held at the Grand Egyptian Museum, underscored the strong ties between the two nations and their mutual interest in expanding collaboration.

Fathy highlighted the outcomes of his recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing discussions aimed at advancing tourism ties. Key topics included strategies to increase tourist numbers between the countries, joint promotion of their respective tourism products, and improving air connectivity to facilitate travel.

The ministers also explored opportunities for cooperation in tourism training and capacity building. They discussed activating a previously signed memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation and participating in Expo 2027 in Belgrade. This international event is seen as a significant platform to showcase tourism destinations and foster business-to-business meetings among stakeholders.

Following their discussions, Kosarac and his delegation toured the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Pyramids, accompanied by Minister Fathy, offering a firsthand experience of Egypt's rich historical and cultural heritage.
