Egypt Heatwave to Continue Until Tuesday, Authorities Advise Precautions

Egypt is bracing for a continuation of a severe heatwave, with the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasting extremely hot conditions to persist across most of the country until Tuesday, June 9. While the northern coast will experience hot weather, other regions will face significantly higher temperatures.

Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt are expected to see daytime temperatures between 36C and 37C. Northern Upper Egypt will reach between 38C and 41C, while southern Upper Egypt will be the hottest, with temperatures ranging from 42C to 43C. The EMA also noted intermittent wind activity and high humidity levels, which will make the actual temperature feel one to two degrees Celsius higher.
