Egypt's PM reviews strategy to maximize returns on state assets

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed the Sovereign Fund of Egypt's (TSFE) strategy for maximizing returns on state-owned assets, emphasizing the government's commitment to converting underutilized public assets into sustainable investment opportunities. This initiative involves strategic partnerships with the private sector.

During a meeting with Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid, Madbouly highlighted the sovereign fund's crucial role in bolstering Egypt's position as a regional investment hub. He stressed the importance of safeguarding the interests of future generations through these efforts.

Farid outlined TSFE's adoption of innovative operating models to enhance asset value and attract both domestic and foreign investment. The fund intends to expand its reach internationally, planning a dedicated Africa-focused investment fund targeting sectors such as banking, financial services, tourism, healthcare, and education. Additionally, a separate industrial investment fund is in development.

The meeting also covered TSFE's managed asset portfolio, current projects, and future investment plans. Officials underscored the need for more diversified investment models, improved operational efficiency, and a stronger focus on high-return sectors to foster sustainable economic growth and long-term financial stability.
