Egypt to impose $15 visa fee from January 2027

Egypt will introduce a flat $15 charge for entry and transit visas beginning Jan. 1, 2027, replacing differing fees applied to services under separate rules.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s decree, published in the Official Gazette, sets the fee at $15 or its equivalent in foreign currency. The charge will cover each entry or transit visa issued by Egyptian authorities at ports of entry.

The decree also applies the same amount to each visa or consular service provided through Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad. It supersedes any previous provisions that conflict with the new decision.

The measure defines and standardizes fees for entry, transit and consular services. Those charges had previously differed according to the type of service and the controls governing it.
