Egypt, Venezuela discuss expanding air connectivity, tourism cooperation

Egypt and Venezuela are seeking to enhance their bilateral ties through increased air connectivity and cooperation in tourism. Civil Aviation Minister Sameh al-Hefny met with Venezuelan Ambassador in Cairo Wilmer Omar Barrientos to discuss strengthening these areas. Al-Hefny expressed Egypt's willingness to support Venezuelan airlines within regulatory frameworks, facilitating expanded air services between the two countries. This initiative is intended to stimulate travel, tourism, and trade. The discussions also focused on the latest developments concerning a draft air transport agreement. This agreement is anticipated to establish a crucial regulatory foundation for fostering air traffic growth and improving air connectivity. Ambassador Barrientos highlighted Venezuela's interest in promoting tourism and deepening relationships with Middle Eastern countries, emphasizing the strategic importance of robust air transport links with Egypt. The expansion of these links is seen as opening new avenues for collaboration.
