EgyptAir Launches First Direct Flights from Cairo to Chicago

EgyptAir has inaugurated its first direct flights connecting Cairo and Chicago, a significant move that expands its presence in the US market and enhances its international route network. This launch follows the recent introduction of flights to Los Angeles, making Chicago the second new US destination for the airline in 2026.

The airline's strategy focuses on improving air connectivity between Egypt and key global markets, aiming to meet the growing travel demand. Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, described the Cairo-Chicago route as a strategic milestone within the company's 2026 growth and development plan. He stated that this initiative reinforces EgyptAir's role as a national carrier supporting national efforts to boost travel and tourism and connect Egypt with diverse global markets.

With the addition of Chicago, EgyptAir now serves five points in the US and six destinations in North America, including Toronto, Canada. Adel highlighted that this expansion reflects confidence in EgyptAir's services and its competitive capabilities on the international stage. Flights to both Chicago and Los Angeles will utilize the A350-900 aircraft, the latest addition to EgyptAir's fleet, noted for its advanced efficiency and modern technology, enhancing the long-haul travel experience as part of the airline's fleet modernization and sustainability goals.

The launch of this new route complements EgyptAir’s successful launch of flights to Los Angeles, which also operates three weekly flights.

Mohamed Alian, Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines, announced that three weekly flights will operate to Chicago on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. He anticipates strong demand for these routes, expecting them to directly support trade and cultural cooperation, stimulate tourism, and bolster Egypt's position as a vital hub linking Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.
