Egyptian Gynecologist Arrested in Kuwait for Illegal Abortions, Supplying Abortion Pills

Kuwaiti authorities have arrested an Egyptian gynecologist for allegedly running an illegal abortion ring and supplying abortion pills for profit. The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest on Tuesday, stating the doctor exploited his profession to conduct illicit procedures.

Acting on information, the Criminal Security Sector's General Department of Criminal Investigation initiated surveillance. Their inquiries confirmed allegations that the doctor performed illegal abortions at his private clinic, accepting payments via cash or bank transfers. This led to an undercover operation where officers posed as clients seeking abortion pills.

Following a scheduled meeting at the clinic, officers obtained legal authorization and raided the premises, arresting the suspect. A search of his residence uncovered 49 abortion pills and 115 psychotropic pills. The doctor reportedly confessed to obtaining the abortion pills through illegal international channels and has been referred for legal proceedings.
