Eight Arab and Muslim countries reject plans to expel Palestinians from Gaza

The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates have rejected proposals aimed at forcing Palestinians to leave the Gaza Strip.

In a joint statement, the ministers condemned remarks by Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defence Minister Israel Katz concerning the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza. They also denounced plans and mechanisms intended to push Palestinians from their land.

The ministers described the proposals as a clear violation of international law, including international humanitarian law. They said such measures would directly threaten the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

“ The ministers reaffirmed their unequivocal rejection and condemnation of any effort or plan aimed at transferring the Palestinian people, whether within or outside the occupied Palestinian territory, under any justification or pretext,” the statement said.

They warned of serious consequences if calls for forced displacement become official policy or are turned into concrete steps to remove Palestinians from their land. The ministers also said such action would directly challenge international efforts to achieve peace.
