Ekiti SUBEB extends teachers’ recruitment examination

The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has extended its qualifying examination for teachers' recruitment, expanding the exercise from two days to three. The examination, originally scheduled for August 14 and 15, 2026, will now commence on Thursday, August 13, and conclude on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The additional day is to enable the Board to efficiently conduct the examination for the large number of eligible applicants who successfully completed the application process.

Mr. Michael Omolayo, the Permanent Secretary of SUBEB, announced the change, stating that the additional day is necessary to efficiently manage the examination for the significant number of eligible applicants who successfully completed the application process. This decision reflects the high volume of interest in the recruitment drive.

The exercise is aimed at filling existing gaps in public primary schools to ensure adequate staffing.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently approved the recruitment of teachers for public primary schools, aiming to enhance learning outcomes across the state. The Ekiti SUBEB Chairman, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, emphasized that the recruitment is a commitment to improving basic education and will focus on filling vacancies created by teacher retirements over recent years.

Applicants who successfully completed their applications would be notified of their respective examination dates and times through their registered email addresses.

The Computer-Based Test will be held at Ekiti State University in Ado-Ekiti. Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications via email detailing their specific examination dates and times. They are required to bring printed copies of their application forms for verification and are warned against bringing mobile phones or other electronic devices into the examination halls. Candidates are instructed to arrive only at their designated times to avoid loitering.
