The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victories in all 10 local government areas announced so far in the Ekiti State governorship election, significantly extending its lead. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is continuing the collation of results from the state's remaining LGAs.

Election officials and observers largely described Saturday's poll as peaceful. However, concerns were raised regarding instances of vote-buying and some procedural irregularities. The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ekiti, Bunmi Omoseyindemi, commended security agencies and voters for the peaceful conduct. Election observers corroborated this, praising the performance of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), though Yiaga Africa noted inconsistencies in some electoral materials.

The results announced so far show the APC with a commanding lead, accumulating 182,331 votes across the 10 declared LGAs, compared to the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) 28,777 votes and the African Democratic Congress's (ADC) 6,598 votes. The APC has won every declared LGA, leading by a substantial 153,554 votes.

Specific results from declared LGAs highlight the APC's dominance. In Ado Ekiti, the state's most populous council, the APC garnered 38,026 votes against the PDP's 3,817. Similar comfortable victories were recorded in Ekiti West, Oye, Ido-Osi, Ayekire/Gbonyin, Ekiti South-West, Emure, Ise-Orun, and Ilejemeje LGAs. The closest contest reported was in Ikere LGA, where the APC secured 11,116 votes against the PDP's 9,892.

Collation of results is ongoing at the INEC state collation center in Ado-Ekiti, with six more local government areas yet to be declared before the final outcome is announced. The APC's strong performance indicates a significant advantage as the process concludes.
