El-Rufai's sons at war as Bashir attacks Bello publicly

Kaduna, Nigeria – A bitter public feud has erupted between two sons of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, with Bashir El-Rufai launching scathing social media attacks against his elder brother, Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives.

Bashir accused Bello, who represents the Kaduna North Federal Constituency, of substance abuse, hypocrisy, and betraying family loyalty. In a series of posts, Bashir alleged that his brother was frequently under the influence of unknown substances and criticized his political maneuvering. "I have a useless excuse for a brother, with his bony-ass face coated with an unknown white substance around his nostrils every night," Bashir wrote, adding, "That is your Member of the House of Representatives, representing a whole constituency, but he prefers alcohol and cocaine."

The public spat seems to be intertwined with the political tensions between their father, Nasir El-Rufai, and the current Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani. Governor Sani, a former political protégé of Nasir El-Rufai, recently revealed that his administration inherited significant debts, which he claims are hindering development. This revelation has caused a political fallout and divisions among Nasir El-Rufai's sons.

However, Bashir's latest tirade suggests Bello only re-aligned with the family after his relationship with Governor Sani soured, accusing his brother of opportunistic behavior and betrayal.
