Elderly couple rescued after truck plunges down slope in South Korea

An elderly couple narrowly escaped serious injury after their truck plunged down a steep slope in Boseong, South Korea. The incident occurred on a village hillside in Hoecheon-myeon on Tuesday morning.

The 1-ton truck was traveling up the slope when it lost control, falling approximately 3 meters before becoming lodged in a grove of bamboo trees. The precarious position of the vehicle raised concerns about it falling further down the embankment.

Emergency services responded swiftly. Firefighters worked to stabilize the truck, using an excavator provided by the local county office to secure its base. This careful operation prevented any additional descent and allowed for the safe extraction of the couple.

Both individuals, in their 70s, were rescued and assessed. Fortunately, they were found to have sustained no significant injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident, with initial reports suggesting the truck may have lost traction while ascending the hill.
