Elderly woman found dead in her home; investigation launched

An 71-year-old woman, identified as Lütfiye B., was discovered deceased in her apartment in the Hamidiye neighborhood on Adıyaman Street. She lived alone in the ground-floor unit of a three-story building.

Concerned relatives attempted to contact Lütfiye B. but received no response. Around 6:30 PM, they went to her residence. Finding the door locked and receiving no answer, they used a spare key to gain entry. Inside, they found the woman lying motionless on the floor and immediately contacted the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Emergency services, including health and police teams, were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel confirmed that Lütfiye B. had passed away. Police conducted an examination of the apartment, noting the absence of any signs of a struggle involving sharp objects or firearms. The body was subsequently transferred to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
