Election Rules Must Be Settled Before Polling Day

Fiji’s election rules should be settled well before polling day, according to the Centre for Democracy and Dialogue, as Parliament considers proposed amendments to the country’s electoral laws.

CDD Chief Executive Nilesh Lal said the timing of any changes matters. Election officials, political parties and voters need enough time to understand the rules and prepare for the election.
