Emergency: Small plane crashes into house, second person found dead

Two men died after a small aircraft crashed into a family home in Ganderkesee, Lower Saxony, Germany, on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash around 11 a.m. The aircraft, which is believed to have departed from Bremen shortly before the incident, lost altitude over a residential neighborhood. Both individuals on board were found deceased after an extensive search operation. The cause of the crash remains unclear, and police have not yet released further details about the victims.

The homeowners were not present when the plane impacted their roof, and no other injuries were reported. As a precautionary measure, nearby houses within a 100-meter radius were evacuated, and the power supply to the street was temporarily interrupted. Police and fire departments secured the crash site, managing leaking fluids and the complex recovery of the aircraft wreckage from the roof.

A crisis intervention team is providing support to residents who witnessed the event or were in the vicinity. The airspace above the area was temporarily closed for safety reasons. Investigations into the accident are ongoing in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation.
