Estonia's electricity market braces for sharp price drop on Saturday

Estonia's electricity market is anticipating a substantial price reduction this Saturday, with the average price in the Nord Pool's Estonian price area expected to fall by 55.8 percent. The new average price is projected to be 31.47 euros per megawatt-hour.

Despite the overall decrease, the day is characterized by unusually large price fluctuations. Consumers looking for the lowest rates will find them in the early morning hours. Specifically, between 01:45 and 02:00, electricity will be available for as little as 1.88 euros per megawatt-hour.

Conversely, the price is expected to peak later in the evening. The highest price will occur between 22:00 and 22:15, when consumers will have to pay 168.24 euros for a megawatt-hour of electricity. This significant difference between the lowest and highest prices highlights the volatility expected in the market on Saturday.
