Virgin Group to launch Channel Tunnel train services from 2030

The UK's Virgin Group has secured access to the rail network, paving the way for new train services through the Channel Tunnel starting in 2030. This development brings the company closer to launching a service that could rival Eurostar.

The agreement, announced by the UK's Office of Rail and Road (ORR), permits Virgin Trains to manage up to 20 daily round-trip services. These services are planned to operate between London and major European cities including Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. The operational period is set from October 1, 2030, through the end of 2040.
