Europe doubts Russia is preparing NATO attack, Bloomberg reports

European officials are confident that Russia is not currently preparing a military assault on NATO or the Baltic nations, according to a Bloomberg report.

This assessment contradicts media speculation that the recent visit by CIA Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow was primarily aimed at preventing a potential attack on the Baltics. Sources indicate the visit's main topics included ending the war in Ukraine, reaffirming NATO's Article 5 collective defense commitments, discussing the situation in Iran, and discouraging Moscow from reacting strongly to new U.S. economic measures against Tehran.

While intelligence services have warned of potential sabotage and provocation operations by Russian special services in Poland and the Baltic states, there have been no observed changes in Russian military movements or positions. Officials in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have confirmed that the military threat level in the region remains unchanged.
