At 42 years old, Antigoni Drisbioti continues to defy age, proving once again she is among the elite race walkers. The Greek champion delivered an outstanding performance at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, securing fourth place in the marathon walk with a time of 3:22:16. This achievement marks a personal best for Drisbioti in the event, making her presence at the competition even more significant. She battled fiercely for a podium spot but ultimately finished just outside the medals.

Panagiota Tsinopoulou also impressed with her performance, finishing immediately behind Drisbioti in fifth place. The Greek athlete completed the race in 3:25:14, a new personal record that underscores her excellent current form.

The gold medal was claimed by Italy's Sofia Fiorini with a time of 3:15:11. Poland's Katarzyna Zdziebło secured the silver medal, while Spain's Raquel González took the bronze, finishing her effort in 3:20:49.
