A joint declaration by Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom stated, "We believe Europe needs a global integrated missile defense architecture solution to deter and overcome future missile threats." The participating nations intend to combine their defense industry bases, research, and operational expertise to build a common anti-ballistic missile capability.
