Tears flowed in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday as veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, was laid to rest. The actor passed away after a battle with stage-four cancer.

In other news, popular Nigerian dancer and socialite Iweh Odinaka, better known as Poco Lee, is expected to appear before a London court on September 15. He is being held on remand in the United Kingdom over an alleged assault offence, according to a Nigerian community leader in the UK.

The Federal Government has also released the admission list for Junior Secondary School One into Federal Unity Colleges nationwide for the 2026/2027 academic session. Successful candidates have been directed to begin the process of confirming their placements.

Meanwhile, Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has faced mixed reactions on social media. She posted a birthday message on Monday, the same day veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was buried in Ilaro, Ogun State, drawing criticism from some netizens.

Additionally, APC governorship candidate Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi, mourned the late actor, stating that he supported Ogogo's medical treatment and did everything possible to ensure he received necessary care.
