Nigerian actress Bunmi Nelson has voiced regret over a missed opportunity to support fellow actress Funke Akindele during the early stages of Akindele's career.

Nelson recalled that in 2006, Akindele approached her seeking to use Nelson's house as a filming location for a project. At the time, Nelson, who was also involved in a soap opera and frequently allowed filmmakers to use her property, admitted to ignoring Akindele's calls.
