FG releases 2026-2027 admission list for Federal Unity Colleges

Nigeria's Federal Government has announced the release of the 2026/2027 admission list for Junior Secondary School One into Federal Unity Colleges across the country. The list, approved by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, is now accessible to parents and guardians. They can view it via the Federal Ministry of Education’s admission portal and the notice boards of the respective colleges.

The Ministry of Education, through a statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, emphasized that the release is intended to ensure a transparent and orderly admission process. Minister Alausa reiterated the government's commitment to making the admission process accessible and transparent for all prospective students seeking placement in these federal institutions.

Successful candidates are required to print their admission slips and proceed to the Federal Unity College indicated on the slip to complete the admission process. Parents and guardians are urged to check their children's admission status promptly and ensure they report to their assigned colleges as required. This admission cycle followed the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE), administered by the National Examinations Council. The NCEE serves as the basis for selecting candidates for placement into the Federal Unity Colleges, which are spread across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. The colleges were established to foster national integration by bringing together students from diverse backgrounds and providing them with federally funded secondary education. Admission is managed through a quota system balancing merit with state equality and other considerations.
