Ex-"Rytas" Player Smith Joins Italian Club for FIBA Champions League

American basketball player S. Smith has secured a new team following his departure from Lithuanian club "Rytas". Smith will join Pallacanestro Reggiana, an Italian club that will compete in the upcoming FIBA Champions League season. In his previous FIBA Champions League campaign with "Rytas", Smith posted averages of 8.6 points and 5.6 assists per game, alongside 3.6 rebounds. Domestically in the Lithuanian LKL league, his stats were 7.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds. Smith had returned to Vilnius in January of the previous year. Despite winning the FIBA Champions League with "Rytas", the team experienced a significant domestic setback, failing to reach the LKL semifinals for the first time in their history after a 0-2 quarterfinal loss to Utenos "Juventus". Pallacanestro Reggiana has been placed in Group E of the FIBA Champions League, where they will face Utenos "Juventus", Malaga's "Unicaja", and Pardubice KVIS.
