Gudaitis reportedly agrees to Rytas extension through 2028

Veteran Lithuanian basketball player Artūras Gudaitis is reportedly set to sign a contract extension with his current club, Vilnius "Rytas," keeping him with the team until 2028. The agreement, detailed by "Basketnews" journalist Donatas Urbonas, includes a significant clause allowing the 33-year-old center to explore international opportunities next summer.

This opt-out option mirrors a similar provision in Gudaitis's previous contract. Despite attracting interest from abroad, the player has expressed a desire to remain in Vilnius. Last season, Gudaitis served as captain for the FIBA Champions League winners, contributing 9.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in that competition. Domestically, in the Lithuanian league, he averaged 12.5 points and 7.3 rebounds.

The news of Gudaitis's potential extension follows "Rytas's" recent announcement of signing American newcomer Ricky Lindo, who also holds Panamanian citizenship. The club appears to be solidifying its roster for upcoming seasons.
