Exit poll results: how many parties entered the Kurultai

Preliminary exit poll results from Kazakhstan's parliamentary elections suggest that five political parties are poised to enter the Kurultai, the nation's newly formed unicameral legislature. Data released by various polling organizations, including the Institute of Eurasian Integration and "Socis-A" Institute for Comprehensive Social Research, consistently show the Adilet Party securing a dominant share of the vote, with projections ranging from 70.7% to 72.3%.

Other parties projected to cross the 5% threshold required for representation include the Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party, Respublica, Ak Zhol Democratic Party of Kazakhstan, and the Nationwide Social Democratic Party (OSDP). Parties like the People's Party of Kazakhstan and the Baitaq Kazakhstan Green Party appear to fall below the required threshold in most polls. A small percentage of voters opted for the "Against all" option.

The elections, held on August 23, mark a significant constitutional shift in Kazakhstan. The country recently adopted a new constitution, effective July 1, 2026, which dissolved the previous bicameral parliament (Mazhilis and Senate) and established the unicameral Kurultai. This new parliament will comprise 145 deputies serving five-year terms.

Exit polls, conducted using standard international methodology via face-to-face interviews outside polling stations, offer a preliminary snapshot of voter intentions. However, these results are not final and may differ from official outcomes, which will be announced by the Central Election Commission by August 30. The Kurultai deputies will be responsible for electing their own Speaker.
