Explosion at Hanwha Aerospace Kills Five; Families Await Identification Amidst Delays

An explosion at the Hanwha Aerospace facility in Daejeon, South Korea, has resulted in the deaths of five workers. Authorities have collected DNA samples from all victims and are working to confirm their identities through comparison with family DNA and further analysis by the National Forensic Service. Officials anticipate that identification may be completed as early as June 2. The accident is the third of its kind at the Hanwha Aerospace site since 2018. The labor union expressed deep sorrow and condemned the repeated incidents, stating that the recurrence of similar accidents in the same location and manner suggests a tolerance for death.
