Facundo Moyano detained in Belgrano over alleged domestic incident

Union leader Facundo Moyano was detained by Buenos Aires police early Tuesday morning following an alleged domestic incident with his current partner, identified as Candela Arizaga. The incident unfolded shortly after 5 a.m. when a 911 call reported a young woman running naked in the Belgrano neighborhood.

According to a police report, building staff alerted officers after observing Moyano, son of former CGT secretary-general Hugo Moyano, leave the building precipitously behind a woman. Both were intercepted a few blocks away and reportedly exhibited signs consistent with drug use. Arizaga, 23, was taken to Pirovano Hospital by emergency medical services.

Moyano is currently being held at Comisaría Vecinal 13A while authorities investigate. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Moyano's defense is reportedly being handled by a criminal lawyer close to his family. He and Arizaga had been living in the Belgrano building since 2021, though Moyano separated from his wife, model Eva Bargiela, in September 2023.

Video footage captured by a passerby showed Arizaga running disoriented and semi-naked through the streets before being assisted by emergency services. Arizaga, a model from Rosario, has over 300,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares photos from various international destinations and her passion for football. She previously dated singer L-Gante.
