Family of Roughrider killed in collision says he will be ‘missed beyond words’

The family of Jayden Dalke, captain of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, is mourning his death after a weekend collision on Highway 11. Dalke, 30, died alongside 22-year-old Bhishma Rajyaguru when their vehicles collided near Regina.

We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and all who knew Jayden.

Saskatchewan RCMP reported that Dalke was driving on the wrong side of the highway and had cannabis and alcohol in his SUV at the time of the crash. The collision occurred around 9 p.m. on Saturday.

In a statement to Global News, the Dalke family expressed their deep love for Jayden and gratitude for the support from friends and the community. They highlighted Dalke's generous contributions to his community and favored organizations. Instead of flowers, the family requested donations to the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation in his memory.

The Dalke family also extended condolences to the family of Bhishma Rajyaguru, who came to Canada as an international student from Gujarat, India, in 2022. Loved ones of Rajyaguru successfully raised funds through a GoFundMe to bring his body back to India. The Dalke family requested privacy as they grieve their loss.
