Far-right Blogger Milo Yiannopoulos Detained by US Immigration Officials

US immigration authorities have detained British far-right blogger Milo Yiannopoulos for overstaying his permitted duration of stay in the country. The Department of Homeland Security announced that Yiannopoulos, described as an "illegal immigrant from the United Kingdom," was apprehended at an airport in Louisiana.

This detention follows a final deportation order issued by an immigration judge on July 22. Yiannopoulos had failed to appear for his scheduled hearing, leading to the order. He will remain in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) pending his deportation.

Yiannopoulos was once a prominent figure within American far-right circles, known for his inflammatory rhetoric targeting women, Black people, elites, and liberals. His public image suffered a significant blow in 2017 when an interview surfaced in which he appeared to defend sex between men and boys. This led to the cancellation of his book deal, removal from the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) speaker list, and termination of his contract with Breitbart News.

More recently, Yiannopoulos has been associated with the rapper Ye (formerly Kanye West), having worked for him for nearly two years before their collaboration ended in 2024. Ironically, last year, Yiannopoulos expressed strong support for ICE on the platform X, suggesting the agency should establish checkpoints at various public locations in California to identify and deport individuals without legal status.

California needs ICE checkpoints at the entrances of supermarkets, gas stations, shopping malls, intersections, and government buildings. Anyone who cannot prove they are in the US legally at the checkpoints should be deported immediately.
