Father claims son, 9, was bullied by senior student

A father is seeking justice after his nine-year-old son was allegedly severely bullied by a 15-year-old senior student at a tahfiz boarding school in Alor Setar, Malaysia. Shamsul Azrin Man, the victim's father, discovered bruises on his son's face and body when he picked him up for a holiday on July 30. Initially, his son claimed he fell, but later admitted he was punched the day before while cleaning a dining table and kicked in the back. "I was heartbroken because my own son asked to study there to become a cleric. I never expected this to happen, but I am grateful he still has the spirit to become one," Shamsul Azrin told Utusan Malaysia. He reported the incident to the police and took his son to the hospital, where he was found to have bruises but no serious injuries. However, the boy is now traumatized and reluctant to return to the school. The father also noted previous instances of bruises and a lump on his son's head, which the boy had attributed to falls. Police are investigating the case under Section 323 of the Penal Code. The alleged perpetrator has been questioned, and the school has suspended the student. Authorities are awaiting the victim's medical report.
