FC Nordsjælland Coach Sees Room for Improvement Despite Dominant 5-0 Win

FC Nordsjælland (FCN) coach Jens Fønsskov Olsen saw room for even more goals despite a commanding 5-0 victory in their home match against Iceland's Valur. The aggregate scoreline for the third qualifying round of the Conference League ended 7-0 in favor of the Danish side.

"We created a lot of chances and had the build-up for more. We could perhaps have been a bit better in our execution and a little calmer in some situations. But winning 5-0, we can't complain," Olsen told Viaplay. The team registered over 30 shots and dominated possession throughout the match.

Notably, five young players, Hjalte Rasmussen, Villum Berthelsen, Marcus Walker, Lamine Sadio, and Levy Nene, all between 18 and 20 years old, each found the back of the net. Coach Olsen expressed satisfaction with the young offensive talents getting opportunities to showcase their skills.

FC Nordsjælland now advances to the playoff round, where they will face FC St. Gallen from Switzerland. The winner of that tie will secure a place in the Conference League's league stage.
