FCT teachers to decide on strike following meeting with Wike

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Federal Capital Territory Wing has concluded a crucial meeting with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, a development that could signal the end of the ongoing strike that has disrupted education. While the union leaders characterized the discussions as fruitful and noted the minister's commitment to resolving long-standing issues, the strike remains in effect pending internal consultations with their members.

We will go back to the house and look at what has been discussed with the minister and know the next line of action.

This situation highlights the persistent challenges faced by teachers in Nigeria, particularly concerning welfare and working conditions. The union's chairman, Abdulahi Shafa, emphasized that the decision to call off the strike will be made collectively after members review the proposals and commitments made by the minister.
