Febrie Adriansyah Questioned as Suspect in Money-Laundering Case

Former Deputy Attorney General for Special Criminals Febrie Adriansyah underwent questioning at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Sept. 8, 2026, as a suspect in an alleged money-laundering case.

Febrie arrived at the Round Building in a detainee vehicle at 10:08 a.m. wearing a long-sleeved blue batik shirt and a pink vest, with his hands handcuffed. Investigators questioned him over a case involving PT Asabri and PT Asuransi Jiwasraya.

His lawyer, Febri Diansyah, said Febrie would cooperate with the questioning and that he would accompany his client. He cited an investigation order from the deputy attorney general for special crimes, a police suspect-determination letter dated July 10, and South Jakarta pretrial court decisions issued on Aug. 27 and 28.

Prosecutors previously named Febrie as a suspect after finding 74 kilograms of gold and hundreds of billions of rupiah at his residence in Sentul. The origin of the gold and money remains unclear. Don Ritto and Nurman Herin were also named as suspects. Herin, a former university classmate of Febrie and Don Ritto at the University of Jambi, lives in Mariana Village in South Sumatra, according to a Tempo Magazine report cited in the article.

Febri said the questioning was unusual because the suspect designation came from another institution and followed pretrial court decisions. “Even though this is the first time we have seen a suspect being summoned based on the naming of suspects by other institutions and pretrial court decisions,” he said.
