FECOFA Suspends TP Mazembe Over Unpaid Debt to Rangers

The Confederation of Congolese Football Associations (FECOFA) has suspended the prominent club TP Mazembe for 30 days due to an outstanding debt to AC Rangers. The suspension, effective immediately, will remain in place until the full amount of $85,000 is paid. This debt stems from the transfer of players Bossou Nzali Adam and Kazema Baso Josué.

Despite being granted a 20-day grace period by FECOFA's Disciplinary and Litigation Commission (CDC), Mazembe failed to settle the financial obligation. The CDC's decision, communicated on Thursday, mandates that the club cease all activities organized by FECOFA. The commission has also notified the National Football League (LINAFOOT) and other relevant bodies to implement the necessary sporting and administrative measures.

In consequence, TP Mazembe is suspended with immediate effect for a period of thirty (30) days from the notification of this decision. This suspension shall remain in force until the full payment of the sum of 85,000 dollars due to AC Rangers.

According to the FECOFA Disciplinary Code, TP Mazembe faces the risk of permanent exclusion from all FECOFA-organized competitions if the debt remains unpaid. This stern warning underscores the federation's commitment to enforcing financial regulations within Congolese football.
