Female TikToker with 1.3mn Followers Shot Dead in Pakistan; Sister Injured

A 28-year-old Pakistani TikTok influencer, Shamsu Bibi, known online as Ayesha, was fatally shot on August 14 after being lured out of her home in Taxila. She commanded a following of approximately 1.3 million users on the platform. Her 15-year-old sister, Asmiya Bibi, sustained serious injuries during the attack, which also resulted in a vehicle crash.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the victim's father, Fazal, Shamsu Bibi was traveling with her sister and brother when motorcyclists allegedly opened fire on their vehicle. Shamsu died from multiple gunshot wounds inside the car, which subsequently lost control and crashed. Her sister was taken to a hospital in Islamabad for treatment.

Investigators are exploring several leads, including alleged financial disputes. The father told police that Shamsu had been threatened over demands for money repayment from two individuals. He also reported that a man named Kashi had called his daughter shortly before the attack, asking her to leave the house. Police are examining call records and social media activity for further clues.

Forensic teams are collecting evidence from the crime scene, including shell casings and the vehicle, to reconstruct the incident. CCTV footage from the area is being sought to identify the attackers and their escape route. The statements of Shamsu's brother and injured sister are considered crucial to the investigation, with the sister's testimony to be recorded once her condition improves.
