Femicide Suspect Mentioned Numerologist 'Pitty' in Letter

A man accused of a brutal femicide in Villa Devoto referenced a well-known numerologist, Verónica Asad, also known as "Pitty la numeróloga," in a handwritten letter. Walter Verón allegedly stabbed his wife, Romina María de los Ángeles Calvo, 40, to death before attempting to take his own life. He remains in critical condition and under arrest. The letter, discovered by police at the crime scene, contained the line, "That Pitty changed her whole personality." Asad, who gained public attention in 2023 for coaching sessions with former Banco Nación president Silvina Batakis, expressed her devastation upon learning of the tragedy. She described the victim as "spectacular" and talented. Calvo was a franchisee of Asad's candle and essence business, Pitty Velas, and had plans to expand. The numerologist received a distressing call from the victim's son informing her of the attack. Verón's letter also conveyed his exhaustion with perceived injustice and his dedication to his family. Police responded to a 911 call from the victim's 21-year-old son, who was awakened by his eight-year-old sister. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck and abdomen, with death attributed to significant blood loss. The alleged perpetrator was apprehended nearby with self-inflicted neck wounds and is hospitalized in serious condition.
