Few wear Mexico jersey at Reforma ciclotón; most opt for sportswear

An invitation by the Mexico City Institute of Sport for cyclists to wear the Mexican national team jersey during Sunday's ciclotón on Paseo de la Reforma saw a notably low turnout. The event, which ran from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, encouraged participants to don the iconic green jersey in support of the national team.

However, observations along Paseo de la Reforma and Avenida Juárez revealed that the majority of cyclists opted for standard sportswear in various colors. Only a small number of attendees heeded the call to wear the national team's attire. One participant, accompanied by her dog, mentioned learning about the invitation through the Indeporte Facebook page and found it to be a fun initiative.

Conversely, many other cyclists stated they were unaware of the specific invitation, leading them to wear their usual athletic clothing. The ciclotón itself covered a significant route, stretching 66 kilometers from the Basilica de Guadalupe to Chapultepec, and also included a section along Avenida Río Churubusco.
