Fiji's lawn bowls team has made a strong start to their Commonwealth Games campaign in Scotland, securing victories against formidable opponents England and Botswana on the opening day. These wins have provided a significant confidence boost for the three-member squad.

Team Manager Usa Kalim described the win as a major accomplishment, particularly given England's status as one of the sport's strongest nations. Fiji's winning momentum carried into the women's pairs event, where Litia Tikoisuva and Losalini Tukai defeated Botswana by one-and-a-half sets. Although Fiji is competing with a smaller team and participating in only two disciplines – men's singles and women's pairs – the team's objective remains clear. Following their successful opening day, the Fijian lawn bowlers aim to maintain their performance as they continue their journey in the Commonwealth Games.
