Fiji's U-19 Men's Selection Enters Second Phase with 54 Players Shortlisted

The Fiji Football Association has announced a squad of 54 locally based players for the second phase of its Under-19 national team selection process. This follows the successful completion of nationwide open trials and talent identification programs aimed at building the future of Fijian football.

The shortlisted players are set to attend two intensive assessment camps at the Fiji Football Technical Academy in Namosau, Ba. The first camp is scheduled from July 19-25, with the first group reporting on Sunday, July 19, at 6:00 PM. The second group will report on July 22 at 6:00 PM.

During these camps, the players will undergo rigorous training sessions and match assessments. The coaching staff will use these evaluations to continue preparations for the next stage of the national team program. This phase is crucial in identifying the most promising talent for the U-19 squad.

Following the conclusion of both assessment camps, the squad will be further trimmed. A final group of 23 players will be selected to participate in an extended residential camp. This final camp will run from July 26 to August 29, also at the Fiji Football Technical Academy, allowing for in-depth development and team cohesion.
