Fijian Drua bids farewell to eight players and three staff at awards night

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua marked the end of their 2026 campaign by bidding farewell to eight players and three staff members at the McDonald’s Fiji Drua Presentation Night. The event, held at the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on Denarau, celebrated the team's season and acknowledged the contributions of those departing.

Among the players recognized were Inia Tabuavou, Ponipate Loganimasi, Etonia Waqa, Elia Canakaivata, Joseva Tamani, Ilaisa Droasese, Simione Kuruvoli, and Isoa Nasilasila. They were joined by departing staff members Tim Sampson, Qio Vucago, and Head Coach Glen Jackson, who were also honored for their roles in shaping the club.

Chief Executive Officer Jeff Miller expressed gratitude to the club's sponsors, partners, families, and fans for their unwavering support throughout the season. Miller emphasized that the club's success is a collective effort, driven by the commitment of the wider "Drua vuvale" (family). The awards night served not only to celebrate achievements but also to recognize the vital role the Drua family plays in advancing professional rugby in Fiji.
