Kaunikuila Royals captain confident in young squad ahead of Fiji Cup

Despite fielding a younger lineup than many competitors, the Kaunikuila Royals are poised to make an impact at the upcoming Vodafone Fiji Cup basketball tournament. Captain Matila Vocea believes her squad possesses the drive and skill to succeed.

Vocea noted that while most of her teammates are still in high school, they have dedicated themselves to rigorous preparation. She is impressed by the team's progress and their performance during training sessions, indicating a strong readiness for the competition.

The Kaunikuila Basketball Club received a significant boost with sponsors YADRA presenting new sets of jerseys to both the Kaunikuila Royals and the Islanders teams. This support comes at a crucial time as the players prepare to showcase their talents.

The Vodafone Fiji Cup is scheduled to take place from Thursday to Saturday at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva. The tournament will be a key platform for these emerging athletes to gain valuable experience and demonstrate their basketball prowess.

Even though we got plenty young players in the team, they have been performing very well during our training sessions and they are all excited to compete this week. They are getting to understand the game better and we look forward to the competition.
