Fijiana XV name fresh-look lineup for Japan Test

The Vodafone Fijiana XV will take on Japan with a lineup designed to blend experience, physical strength and speed. Kick-off is set for 8 p.m. Fiji time, with Kolora Lomani leading the team.

Karalaini Naisewa and Keleni Marawa will start in the front row, alongside Tiana Robanakadavu at tighthead prop. Bitila Tawake gives Fiji added power from the bench and could make an impact in the second half.

Merewairita Neivoha is one of the notable selections. Usually playing on the wing or at centre, she will take the openside flanker position after previously featuring there against South Africa.

Ivamere Rokowati will cover the back, with Josivini Neihamu and Ruth Raketekete forming the midfield pairing. Aqela Raitubu and Atelaite Ralivanawa provide pace out wide, while vice-captain Alfreda Fisher adds control and physicality at number eight.

Japan’s disciplined approach and ability to maintain pressure will challenge Fiji’s composure. The Fijiana XV will need to protect possession, organize its defense and maintain discipline if its combination of power and speed is to threaten Japan.
