Finance Ministry paid $27.5 million

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) disbursed 166.21 billion Paraguayan guaranis (approximately $27.5 million) to state suppliers and creditors during the final week of July 2026. This significant payment aims to honor commitments related to Resource Transfer Requests (STRs) submitted between July 23 and July 29.

The funds originated from various sources: 5.1 billion guaranis from the Treasury, 109.18 billion guaranis from Public Credit, and 51.92 billion guaranis from Institutional Resources. These payments were allocated to suppliers and creditors across multiple government bodies, including the Ministries of Public Works, Justice, Children and Adolescents, Economy and Finance, Labor, Urbanism, Housing and Habitat, Public Health, the Supreme Court of Justice, and the Ministry of the Interior, among others.

The Directorate General of Public Treasury confirmed that resource transfers are processed consistently based on the submission date of STRs. Detailed payment schedules are publicly available on the MEF's institutional website and the National Directorate of Public Procurement portal.

In parallel, the MEF conducted a successful auction of Treasury Bonds on the Asunción Stock Exchange, adjudicating 360.54 billion guaranis ($53.7 million). The auction saw demand totaling 620.2 billion guaranis and is part of the financing plan for the 2026 fiscal year. These funds are earmarked for financing the National Budget, aligning with the year's financial program and existing legal authorizations, ensuring an orderly management of public finances.
