Fire at Incheon Coupang logistics center; 121 evacuated safely

A fire erupted on the sixth floor of a Coupang logistics center in Incheon early Saturday, prompting a large-scale response from emergency services.

According to the Incheon Fire Department, the blaze was reported at approximately 6:54 AM on July 18. All 121 employees and staff present at the Coupang 32 logistics center in Seoknam-dong, Seo-gu, were able to evacuate the premises safely. As a result, there have been no reported casualties or injuries.

Firefighters have mobilized significant resources, deploying 219 personnel and 79 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, to combat the fire. The incident has generated considerable concern, with black smoke billowing from the building and triggering 27 separate emergency calls from the public.

While the immediate risk of the fire spreading to other floors or adjacent structures appears low, officials note that the presence of combustible materials inside the facility means extinguishing the blaze completely may take considerable time. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage will be investigated once the fire is fully contained.
