Fire Engulfs Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency Building

A significant fire engulfed the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) building in Jakarta on Friday night, August 7, 2026. The blaze, which began around 9:30 PM local time, originated on the 11th floor of the structure located on Jalan Abdul Muis.

Flames quickly spread from the initial ignition point, consuming the 11th floor and climbing towards the building's roof. Reports indicated that the fire also began to affect lower floors as the night progressed, with visible flames seen on the sides of the building until after midnight.

Emergency services mobilized a substantial response to the incident. A total of 100 firefighters and 20 fire engines were deployed to the scene. They worked through the night, battling the intense flames and striving to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent structures. The efforts continued into the early hours of Saturday morning.
