Fire Engulfs Stall and Police Post in Cengkareng, West Jakarta

A fire incident in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, saw a roadside stall engulfed in flames, with the blaze subsequently spreading to a nearby police guard post.

The fire, which reportedly began around 10:30 PM local time, is suspected to have originated from an electrical short circuit within the stall. Eyewitnesses described seeing flames erupt from the upper section of the stall, prompting immediate efforts by local residents to douse the fire using water from a nearby drain before the arrival of emergency services.

Firefighters from the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency responded promptly after receiving the report at 10:40 PM. They managed to bring the fire under control within minutes, with the operation officially concluded by 11:18 PM. A total of seven fire engines and 35 personnel were deployed to the scene.

Fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries or fatalities. The situation was stabilized after the fire was successfully extinguished, allowing for a return to normalcy in the affected area. The quick response from the fire department was crucial in preventing further escalation and damage.
