Fire risk and thunderstorms: storm warning issued for almost all of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is bracing for severe weather conditions as a storm warning has been issued for nearly the entire country, coinciding with a persistent high fire danger. Many regions are anticipating thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds that could gust up to 15-20 meters per second, posing a significant risk.

Specific forecasts indicate that areas like Almaty will experience scorching heat, with daytime temperatures reaching 40-42 degrees Celsius, while maintaining a high fire danger. The Zhetysu Region is expected to face northwesterly winds with gusts up to 20 meters per second, alongside a high fire danger, escalating to extreme danger in its northern, southern, and eastern districts.

Further complicating the weather picture, the Karaganda Region is forecast to have light rain and thunderstorms in its northern and eastern parts. Winds in the east and center could reach 15 meters per second, with gusts up to 20 meters per second in the southeast. Despite the potential for rain, high and extreme fire danger levels persist in various parts of the region.

The Akmola and Pavlodar regions are also expecting rain, thunderstorms, and hail, with westerly winds gusting up to 20 meters per second. Daytime temperatures in these areas could hit 35-37 degrees Celsius. The Zhambyl Region, particularly its mountainous areas, will experience northwesterly winds with gusts up to 20 meters per second, while facing high and extreme fire danger. The Aktobe region is anticipating rain, thunderstorms, and hail in its western, northern, and eastern parts.
