First Moroccan Doctoral Thesis on Energy Transition Defended in Tangier

Tangier hosted the public defense of the first doctoral thesis in Morocco focused on the critical issue of energy transition and its impact on national electricity and water security. The academic event took place at the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences, part of Abdelmalek Essaâdi University.

The research, conducted by Fouad Kamal and supervised by Dr. Abdelouahed El Khmal, head of the Arabic Law department, is titled 'Energy Transition in Morocco and the Future of Electricity and Water Security.' This academic work delves into one of the nation's most significant national projects, emphasizing renewable energy development and the crucial goal of securing energy and water resources.

The defense committee included prominent academics and experts, such as Professor Driss Jourdani, Mouloud Assbaai, Saleh Azhaf, Hicham Elhaska, and Abdelatif Berdich, former president of the Electricity Regulatory Authority. The committee provided high-level scientific feedback and academic guidance, enriching the thesis.
