Morocco braces for hot weather with scattered rain and wind

Morocco is bracing for a hot Saturday, July 25, with the General Directorate of Meteorology forecasting temperatures ranging from hot to locally very hot conditions across the eastern region, the Moulouya Valley, the Souss region, and southeastern areas, including the Saharan provinces. Residents in these areas should prepare for intense heat.

Partially cloudy skies are expected in the eastern part of the country, accompanied by scattered rainfall. Additionally, low clouds and local fog patches are anticipated during the morning and night along the Atlantic coastal plains and the Souss region. These conditions may bring a slight reprieve from the heat in coastal areas but could affect visibility.

Moderate to strong wind gusts are predicted for several regions, including the plains, central coasts, and Saharan provinces. These winds may carry sand locally, potentially impacting air quality and visibility in affected areas. The sea conditions are expected to be slightly rough to rough along the Mediterranean coast, calm to slightly rough in the Strait of Gibraltar, slightly rough north of Safi, and rough to very rough along the rest of the coast.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to decrease across the entire country compared to previous days, offering some relief from the peak heat. Minimum temperatures will range between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius in the Souss region, southeastern and southern provinces. In the Atlas Mountains and the northern and central Atlantic plains, minimums will be between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. Other parts of the kingdom will see minimum temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius.
